Our Story
The Heart Behind Crusade Health & Wellbeing
I know how heavy it feels to watch someone you love lose pieces of themselves. My deep passion for this work comes from a very personal place. For much of my life, I have walked a difficult path with severe anxiety, depression and eating struggles alongside the relentless pain of lifelong migraines. I know the crushing weight of feeling hopeless, trapped and sensing no way out.
One of the turning points that truly defined the mission of Crusade Health & Wellbeing came when I watched my Nan decline.
My Nan suffered from Alzheimer’s disease and eventually had to move into a care home. For years, her absolute favourite part of the week was a simple tradition: going into town with her sister for their weekly shopping trip. It wasn’t just about buying groceries; it was her connection to the world, her social life, her independence and her joy. When her health and mobility declined to the point where they could no longer make that trip, her spirit began to fade rapidly. Watching that spark go was such an alien, confusing experience.
It taught me an unforgettable lesson: when people lose their mobility and social connection, they don't just lose their physical independence. They lose a part of who they are.
The word "crusade" is defined as a vigorous, impassioned campaign for a cause that you truly believe in. That is exactly what this business is. Crusade Health & Wellbeing was born out of a fierce, deeply personal mission to champion the quality of life for older adults. It is our passionate campaign to fight against the isolation, anxiety and loss of independence that so often creep into later life, ensuring your parent doesn't just get by, but truly thrives.
How We Work
When navigating a loved one’s care, you are carrying an incredible amount of responsibility. You want them to be safe, but you also want them to be truly happy, engaged and alive.
At Crusade Health & Wellbeing, we step in as your dedicated partners to bridge the gap between physical safety, mental health and vital social stimulation. We bring our premium care directly to them, whether they are living independently with domiciliary support or residing in an assisted living facility.
Our approach is built entirely around three areas:
- Vital Social Stimulation & Mental Health Support: Isolation is one of the biggest drivers of decline in older adults. Our twice weekly sessions provide consistent, warm companionship and cognitive stimulation. Furthermore, our dedicated Weekly 30-Minute Check-Ins and group WhatsApp access give you and your loved ones a safe, welcoming space to talk through anxiety, build up their mental confidence and feel genuinely heard and valued.
- Protecting Physical Independence: We focus strictly on functional, safe movements that keep your loved ones moving freely in daily life. Through our specialized Independent "Get Up" Training, we teach them the vital skills needed to safely handle floor transfers, drastically reducing the fear of falling and preserving their autonomy.
- Gentle, Advanced Mobility: Using gentle Neuro-Centric Mobility Methods, we work directly with your parent's nervous system to retrain how their brain communicates with their muscles. This mirrors natural childhood movement patterns to kindly unlock stiff joints, correct posture and rebuild deep, reflexive balance without stress or strain.
